Day on the Hill

Due to the time-sensitive challenges with COVID-19, we are cancelling our NRAA Day on the Hill legislative event scheduled for May 13, 2020. All resources for our government and our dialysis colleagues are needed where they are at this time. We are aware and understand that your priority is with your patients, facilities, and staff.
We thank you for your continuous dedication to optimal patient care and your professionalism.

NRAA DAY ON THE HILL

The National Renal Administrators Association (NRAA) plays a vital role in shaping healthcare policy for dialysis and ESRD patients, and comprehensive kidney care delivery models of the future. We work with lawmakers and regulators to promote and preserve the interests of independent, regional and community-based dialysis providers. The NRAA Day on the Hill is an annual opportunity for kidney care professionals and their patients to join us on the Hill in Washington, DC for a day of active advocacy.

Day on the Hill participants will spend time educating members of Congress and their staff on why maintaining independent, regional and community-based dialysis providers is so important and valuable to our communities. As a participant, you'll be delivering a consistent message that promotes the preservation of the NRAA member's ability to provide quality patient care. After meeting with y
our Representative, they will be knowledgeable of the challenges that you face in delivering quality care. This includes regulatory, legislative and economic issues that make it harder to run your business cost effectively.  Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to discuss your facility’s top priorities and concerns directly with your Representative.

Advocacy Experience is Not Required
The Day on the Hill is lead by NRAA government affairs team, Mehlman Castagnetti Rosen & Thomas (MCRT), who provide a fuss-free Day on the Hill experience to all participants.  MCRT will:

  • Schedule all Day on the Hill appointments
  • Provide you with key talking points and handouts
  • Assist attendees in navigating the halls of the Capitol
  • Join you on your appointments with your Representatives

Patients

NRAA has funding for members to bring patients to the Day on the Hill. If you have a patient who is interested in this opportunity, register them when registering yourself.  NRAA will work with you to secure hotel accommodations and will cover room and tax as well as reimburse the patient for coach airfare for your patient’s travel. Note – patients must accompany a member attendee.   Patients cannot attend on their own.
